We all at one point in our lives heard the phrase “Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal Of The Day”, but does that statement have facts and statistics to back it up? In this article, I’ll be outlining the facts about breakfast, how companies trick you, and if breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day.

Results Of Breakfast

Your first meal certainly affects you both positively and sometimes negatively. For starters, Breakfast eaters have healthier and more efficient blood sugar control, according to the Bath Breakfast Project. It is also proven that people who eat breakfast are more likely to meet their recommended daily vitamin intake and minerals than people who don’t. Another study shows that people who eat breakfast tend to move more. Not eating breakfast, however, can reduce overall calorie intake, and having breakfast most likely won’t boost your metabolism. Pushing both of these views aside, it all depends on what you eat. If you are just eating junk food such as high-calorie cereals and pancakes, breakfast is probably not going to be the most important meal in terms of health.

Company Manipulation

As you may know, companies all over the globe are manipulating you into buying your products, whether you know it or not. Cereal companies such as Kellogg’s and General Mills have been “false advertising” for decades. Nearly all cereal companies don’t use milk in their ads, they fill the bowl with jello and put thick amounts of glue on top. The reason they do this is that milk gets the cereal soggy. It's not just cereal though, even pizza companies do this. Did you ever wonder how the cheese always stretches so far, the reason for that is because it's not cheese, it's glue!

Truth Or Not?

Breakfast can be great, especially a healthy one, but some of the benefits you hear are flat out false. However, I would agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day only If it's a healthy one. No matter what the big brands say, pancakes, french toast, cereal, and more are simply not good for you. It does not have to be breakfast that gets you the energy. Some people, like myself, skip breakfast and eat at lunch. And I still get the same amount of energy as the next guy. It all depends on your personal preference.

Final Words

You don’t need to eat breakfast everyone morning just because somebody told you that “breakfast is more important than every other meal”. You get to choose. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t eat healthily, but you have the choice when you need to refuel your tank.
